Hi Buddhima Pathum,

The screen shot shows that the country code is not included with the mobile number. The format has to be country code+mobile number (eg., for a US number 1-408-916-9890). You should not add zeros before the country code.

Hi Nick,

Please check with the 'Connection Security' if it is SSL then use port 465. If TLS is enabled use Port 587. Also, if the SMTP server needs authentication then update the administrator credentials by click on the 'Advanced Settings' link. If you still have issues configuring the SMTP server, then please contact our support team (support@adselfserviceplus.com) with your contact details and convenient time to work on this.

ADSelfService_Enroll.hta -message appears "Server unreachable , Right Now! ???

I wanted to update the ADSelfService_Enroll.hta file I have in group policy with the latest version (from the last patch I put on 11/20/2015)- I double clicked it to test it to see what my users will see and that message appears. The group policy version (7/20/2015) doesn't give any message - I'm not even sure it's working anymore.
Any help?

thank you,
Jamie Brewer

It's already in there. It still gives the message about the server being unreachable. I copy and pasted it into a browser to be sure it was right and it was. Thank you for your suggestion anyway.

Cannot configure certain features

Hello,

I'm having an issue with trying to configure email notifications.  Actually it's 2 issues.

1 - I cannot successfully get to the Server Settings section under Admin -> Product Settings.  Clicking Server Settings will load some of the page, but I cannot see anything under the Mail Settings tab.  I can also not click SMS Settings or Proxy Settings to load those tabs.  Both the Connection and Windows Service links under Product Settings seem to work fine; it's just Server Settings where I have this issue.  I have tried this in IE, Firefox, and Chrome, and they all show this same behavior.

2 - Under Configuration -> Password Expiry Notification, clicking the Add New Notification button does nothing.  I can click it all day long and absolutely nothing happens.  I don't know if this is related to the issue above, but it is a problem I need fixed.

Hopefully someone can help correct these issues.

Thanks,
Sean

ManageEngine ADSelfService Portal - Unlock Account not working

$

Hi,

I've just deployed ManageEngine's ADSelfService and noticed that the account unlock feature doesn't appear to work.  I've gone through the steps of enrollment then went on to lock the account, go through the unlock account feature, get a confirmation that my account is unlocked but when I look in Active Directory, the account's properties still indicate the account is locked.

Can someone let me know what is the best way to troubleshoot this?  I can see the unlock request logged in the dashboard but the account is not unlocked.

Thanks.

Upgrade to 5315, Users cannot change passwords

08.12.2016: Unfortunately, removing KB3167679 did not work for our environment and the Support team has indicated we'll have to await a solution from their development team. Awaiting final resolution.

UPDATE: Contacted support regarding this issue; appears to be a problem with build 5315 I believe. Awaiting resolution from support team.

After upgrading to build 5315 some of our users are reporting issues resetting or changing their passwords, even though they meet the security requirements.

The Password Change audit report provides the same generic error "Password in Change Password"

How can we resolve this issue?

I just ran into this same issue but I'm still on Build 5307.  I did a support chat and it turns out it was a Windows update that just occurred that is causing the problem.  They told me the Engineering team is working on a fix to resolve it.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I did do updates on that system last night. I wonder if we uninstall it'll resolve for now.

Hi,

This is because of  the recent security update for Windows, Change password operation is getting failed.

Here is the update link : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3167679

If you need to get the change password to work then the workaround is to uninstall this security update from the ADSelfService Plus server but it is not suggested.

This update should disable the a
bility to change the passwords of disabled or locked-out accounts supported only by NTLM but instead, it disables the change password ability for the active/enabled accounts.

Steps to uninstall this security update,

Go to windows explorer --> Right click My computer --> properties --> windows update --> Installed updates in top corner --> select KB3167679 update --> right click --> uninstall and reboot the server.

We will keep you posted when there is an alternative way to overcome this.

Hi Vaideeswaran,

Thank you for the update, I received the same information from the Support team that is working on my ticket. Unfortunately, removing the update KB3167679 did not resolve the issue in my case. The support team responded to my notice and we have scheduled a remote assistance session for later today and, hopefully, we'll be able to get this resolved.

I'll be providing an update as the situation changes.

What was the outcome of this? I'm testing 5314 and suddenly am getting this error.

Oddly enough it seems to work fine on Windows 10 client. But not Windows 7.

Hi Terence,

ADSelfService Plus will unlock the account only the first DC which is configured on the top of the DC list in 'Domain Settings'. It will be reflected in other DCs after the DC replication. However, you could configure the application to update the unlock account status in all the DCs as follows,

* Login as 'admin' to ADSelfService Plus.

* Navigate to 'Configuration' tab --> Self-Service --> Policy Configuration --> Available Policies --> Click to view the advanced options.

* 'Automation' tab --> check DC Updater "Update Reset Passwords and Account Unlock status on all Domain Controllers" checkbox --> OK.

Hi, did the support team ever do the remote session with you?  Were they able to resolve?  I haven't removed the update yet.

Thanks
